Who we are

MSK Ultrasound is exploding at point of care level. Anyone can buy a machine and start scanning, without training, experience, or credentialing. And while some US courses help you learn how to scan, they don’t teach how to integrate what is on the screen into your clinical consultation, using an evidence based approach.

Recognising all of this, we started offering small courses, and word travelled quickly.

We use MSK POCUS every day in clinical practice, and our hope is that we can pass on our skills and knowledge to promote MSK POCUS that is safe, rational, and best practice.

Meet the team.

Abbe Johnson

BBS, MSportMgt, Cert Fitness. Course Administrator Extraordinaire

I completed my Bachelor of Business Studies with a major in Sport Business Management and a minor in Exercise and Sport Science at Massey University. After this I went on to complete a Master of Sport Management. With a life filled with sport it was only natural for me to study it, as I knew that no matter the stage of life I was in, sport would play some role.

I have known many aspects of sports, being involved in community sport, high performance sport as well as coaching, spectating, and managing teams, athletes and event management. I excelled in Athletics, running the 400m at a national and international level and Competitive Cheerleading where I attended the World Cheerleading Championships in 2019. In my coaching I am passionate about teaching correct technique and ensuring perfection before progression – thus helping minimise injury and optimise performance potential.

Along the way, I have had the privilege to organise and execute a wide range of wonderful events through my education and career, and I love it!

I have a wonderful husband, the cutest son, and an energetic four-legged fur baby. We enjoy being outside exploring or being in our garden and spending time with our family.
